Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)
Resource Page
J.E. Turner Elementary will be implementing a Bring Your
Own Device (BYOD) initiative. At Turner we believe that
students should be able to use technology as a learning tool.
We will no longer ban approved mobile devices from campus, but will
embrace their use to be a learning resource that can reach outside
a four walled classroom. While we would love to be able to
provide a device for each child, we simply do not have the funds or
support to manage that many mobile devices. With BYOD,
students are already familiar with their device and learn to take
responsibility for it. We believe through this initiative,
students will learn to use their devices responsibly and for
educational purposes. While we encourage our students to
bring a device, they are not required to do so.
