First Grade

I attended Faulkner State Jr. College and obtained an Associates in Arts Degree.  Upon completion of that, I attended the University of South Alabama and achieved a Bachelor of Science Degree with Dual Certification in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. Next, I continued and received my Masters in Early Childhood Education from the University of Mobile. Then, I received my Administration Certificate from University of South Alabama.  Finally, I achieved my Educational Specialist Degree in Early Childhood from the  University of West Alabama.

I began my career working at Ella Grant Elementary teaching Kindergarten for 4 years.  Then I was blessed to have been appointed the ALABAMA Reading Initiative Coach at Brazier Elementary during the Transformation of that school for 5 years.  I loved that position and loved working with the teachers but I missed the children more; so I pursued a position at Hutchens Elementary as a Kindergarten Teacher for the next 5 years.  I then remarried, relocated and taught 2 years in Beat Four, Mississippi as a Kindergarten Teacher.  I missed my friends in Alabama and decided to come back and I taught 1 year at Collins-Rhodes as a Kindergarten Teacher and then couldn't pass up the amazing opportunity to come to J E Turner as a First Grade Teacher.  I am truly enjoying this school and intend on finishing up and retiring from here.  I love being a STALLION where we are leading the charge!!!

My name is Jacquelyn Deese and I am a first grade teacher.  This is my 20th  year of being an educator.  I am married and we have a blended family of 5 boys, 3 daughter in laws, 1 soon to be daughter in law in May, 1 granddaughter and our beautiful grandson will arrive in January.  I love being outside and around animals.  Our family loves to hunt deer and turkeys and go fishing.  My heart belongs to all of my students and want the very best for them ALL.
